I can’t let the month of February get away without celebrating the 34th anniversary of my decision to grow a mustache. While I realized it would certainly change my facial appearance, the primary reason for taking up the space between my nose and upper lip was to preserve the integrity of that space.
Years earlier I had discovered the disastrous consequences that could result from just one errant stroke with a bladed razor. And while it’s true such bloodletting wasn’t a problem with an electric razor, it was sometimes still a hassle getting a close enough shave.
Hence, the decision to grow the mustache, which you might be able to see on the mini photo.
So, Happy Birthday, mustache.
